Department of Orthopaedics receives 40 chairs from the Kenya Orthopaedics association

The Kenya Orthopaedics Association Donated 40 chairs to the department. These are to be used in the departments seminar room. Kenya Orthopaedic Association Chairman Dr. Fred Otsyeno handed the chairs to the chairman of the department Prof. J. Mulimba at a ceremony held on August 5, 2011 at the departments offices. Present at the function was the dean of Faculty of Medicne Prof.Omwodho and members of the Orthopaedics Department.

Department Introduction

The department of Orthopaedic Surgery receives students of MB.ChB at the level of 3rd year.  These are students who will have satisfied the University requirements for entry onto the MB.ChB basic sciences laying foundation for further training.  The department teaches them in the third and fifth years.  The course is to equip the student with knowledge of the basic structures and functions of the locomotor system. It also equips the student with the pathology, trauma and response to the same.
