Latest News in Orthopaedic Surgery

The 8th Trauma Life Support Course jointly organised by the University Of Nairobi Department Of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Kenyatta National Hospital took take place at Nairobi Surgical Skills laboratory between 10th and 12th February 2015.
It was a three day course mainly targeting qualified doctors and medical students.
It was well attended over 20 participants.

The NuVasive Spine Foundation™ (NSF)-surgeons held a spine Surgery project in February 2016 at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in Nairobi, Kenya.


The mission trip focussed on surgeon training and deformity correction.

After 80 years, SICOT returns to Italy: in 1936, SICOT held its 3rd Triennial Meeting in Bologna and Rome and from then on became known as SICOT by adding the T for Traumatology to its name.

Dr. Sitati and Dr. Gakuya attend a Hand Surgery Workshop organised by the Plastic surgery unit.

Hand surgeons Dr, Tilman Stasch and Dr. Krishna Kumar were facilitators in the hand Surgery workshop done at KNH and Chiromo.

Dr. Stasch is an external examiner in the department of surgery,  while Dr. Kumar is from Calicut in Keral, India.

The workshop lasted one week. Surgeries were held in four sessions and included surgery for brachial plexis injuries among others.
